Dots Xinomavro Oenops Wines

The Dots Xinomavro Oenops Wines is a dry red wine made from 100% Xinomavro, sourced from Naoussa and Amyntaio, two regions that know very well how to bring out the elegant, energetic and cooler side of the variety. Here, Xinomavro is not presented as heavy or strict, but as brighter, more vibrant and pure, with emphasis on fruit, acidity and earthy complexity.
The Dots series by Oenops Wines focuses on single-varietal wines from Greek grapes, with minimal intervention and the aim of expressing the character of each variety and its place of origin as clearly as possible. In Dots Xinomavro, the grapes go through careful sorting and a short cold soak, while fermentation takes place in tulip-shaped concrete tanks and open-top barrels. After blending, the wine ages for up to 10 months on its fine lees in concrete tanks and large old barrels, and is bottled unfiltered to preserve its natural intensity.
In the glass, it has a medium ruby colour and aromas of cherry, strawberry, flowers, spices and a subtle earthy touch. On the palate, it is expressive and juicy, with crisp acidity, well-handled tannins and a long finish that leaves red fruit, spice and freshness. It is a Xinomavro with character, but without being tiring; it has the structure you want from the variety, together with a more modern, easy-drinking side.
Try it with beef, lamb, pork, duck, mushroom dishes, tomato-based stews, Greek vegetable stews, pasta with tomato sauce, spicy Asian flavours and semi-hard or aged cheeses.
