Akakies Kir-Yianni Domaine
€10,00
Akakies by Kir-Yianni Estate is a rosé wine that shows the more elegant, fruity and immediately enjoyable side of Xinomavro. It comes from Amyndeon, one of the coolest winegrowing zones in Greece, where the altitude, sandy soils and presence of the lakes help the variety keep freshness, clarity and vibrant fruit.
In the glass, it has a bright deep rosé color with delicate bluish highlights. The nose is intense and clean, with ripe strawberry, red forest fruits and gentle herbal hints. On the palate, it is round yet refreshing, with the acidity of Xinomavro bringing energy and keeping the wine lively through the persistent, fruity finish.
The winemaking focuses on detail rather than excess. The grapes go through strict sorting and careful destemming, followed by pre-fermentation maceration for 24-48 hours, while fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks in order to preserve the clean aromatic character. Contact with the light lees for 3 months, together with gentle stirring, gives a nicer texture and brings the fruit and freshness together.
Akakies is one of those rosé wines that opens easily, but does not go unnoticed. Serve it chilled on its own, at the beginning of a meal or next to Mediterranean dishes, salads, pies, vegetable stews, pasta with red sauces, lightly spicy flavors and dishes with salmon or tuna. A rosé with fruit, energy and the clear identity of Xinomavro from Amyndeon.
