Santorini Kouloura Artemis Karamolegos Winery

Santorini Kouloura by Artemis Karamolegos Winery is a white wine that clearly speaks the language of the island. Based on Assyrtiko, with a small contribution from Athiri and Aidani, it stands on the classic Santorini trio: acidity, salinity and volcanic minerality.

The name Kouloura refers to the traditional pruning method of Santorini, where the vines are woven low in a basket shape to be protected from the strong wind and the sun. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, aiming to keep the expression of the fruit and the place pure, while ageing on the lees gives volume, texture and a more serious character.

In the glass it reveals lemon, grapefruit, white-fleshed peach, hints of flowers, yeast and wet stone. On the palate it is sharp, dry and full of energy, with an intense salty finish that takes you straight by the sea. Put it next to raw fish, shellfish, shrimps, grilled fish, octopus or lemony seafood and you have one of the most authentic Santorini experiences in the glass.
