Mple Alepou Kir-Yianni Domaine

Blue Fox by Kir-Yianni Estate is a red wine with great depth, intensity and a very distinctive character. Here, the Estate leaves Xinomavro aside for a moment and works with a blend of international varieties that have adapted to Naoussa: Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The result is a dense, firm and velvety wine, with power but also impressive balance.

In the glass, it has a deep ruby color with purple highlights. The nose is generous, with black fruit, vanilla, black pepper, caramel, nuts and notes of smoke and oak. On the palate, it is full, concentrated and velvety, with sour cherry, plum, blackcurrant, chocolate and cinnamon gradually coming through as the wine opens in the glass.

The winemaking of Blue Fox is designed for intensity and complexity. The grapes are selectively hand-harvested, each variety is handled separately and pre-fermentation maceration takes place at low temperature for 5 to 7 days. Fermentation takes place in wooden tanks, with gentle punch-downs, in order to build structure without harsh tannins. Ageing for 16 months in French oak barrels and a further 12 months in bottle give the wine deeper texture, a more integrated character and a long, rich finish.

Blue Fox is a wine for bold flavors and time in the glass. It asks for decanting, it asks for food and it has the volume to stand next to beef, game, lamb, mushroom dishes, rich sauces, smoky flavors and mature cheeses. A premium red wine from Kir-Yianni Estate with an international mindset, a Naoussa background and a character that does not go unnoticed.
