Malagouzia Turtles Magnum by Alpha Estate is the estate’s beloved single vineyard Malagouzia in a 1.5L bottle, ideal for dinners, gifts or moments when a regular bottle probably will not be enough. It comes from the Turtles vineyard site in the Amyndeon winegrowing zone, at an altitude of 670 metres, with a northwestern orientation facing Mount Voras. The cool environment of Florina helps Malagouzia keep freshness, clarity and intensity, without losing its rich aromatic character.
In the winery, Alpha Estate works with pre-fermentation maceration in a controlled environment, alcoholic fermentation at gradually adjusted temperatures and 2 months on the lees with periodic stirring. This process gives Malagouzia a fuller texture and lovely balance, while keeping the wine fresh, aromatic and clean.
In the glass, it shows rose petal, white flowers, sweet spices, melon, litchi and honeysuckle, along with a subtle herbal note reminiscent of rosemary. On the palate, it is rounded, aromatic and well structured, with rich texture, finesse and a lasting finish. The magnum bottle adds something extra to the experience: it looks more impressive on the table and fits perfectly with gatherings that need a white wine with aroma, freshness and character.
Pair it with fish, seafood, prawns, fruit-based salads, dishes with aromatic herbs, white meats, soft cheeses and light Asian cuisine. This is one of those Malagouzias that can be enjoyed easily on its own, but makes even more sense at the centre of a good table.
