Louroi Platia Single Vineyard by Artemis Karamolegos Winery is one of the most expressive and collectible faces of Santorini Assyrtiko. It comes from a unique vineyard site in Pyrgos, with vines over 150 years old, and carries all the concentration, intensity and rare energy that the old vineyard of Santorini can give.
Vinification keeps the wine pure and authentic, allowing the place to speak. Ageing on the lees gives it volume, depth and an enjoyable texture, while time in the bottle adds more complexity. In the glass it reveals white flowers, ripe tropical fruit, quince, citrus fruit, white pepper and intense minerality.
On the palate it is full, precise and impressively vibrant, with sharp acidity, salty intensity and a long finish that lingers. It needs a large glass, a little time to open up and dishes with character, such as sushi, tuna carpaccio, shellfish, grilled fish, shrimps, lobster or even sweet-and-sour pork.
