Genesis Red by Kechris Winery is a modern red wine that combines the lively, distinctive side of Xinomavro with the softer and richer feel of Merlot. The result is a wine with fruit, structure and everyday ease, without becoming simple or flat.
The two varieties are harvested and vinified separately, so that each one keeps its own character. After alcoholic fermentation, maceration follows for 6 weeks and ageing for 8 months in oak barrels, giving the wine more roundness, depth and subtle spice notes.
In the glass, it brings fresh strawberry, cherry, tomato, olive, vanilla, coffee and spices. On the palate, it is structured but friendly, with soft tannins, juicy fruit and a clean, pleasant finish.
It pairs very well with grilled vegetables, red meats cooked in the oven or on the grill, pasta with red sauces, pizza, burgers and yellow cheeses. It is a red wine that opens easily at the everyday table, but has enough character to make the glass more interesting.
