Emilia Liastos by Silva Daskalaki Estate is a naturally sweet wine from Liatiko that takes the Cretan tradition of sun-dried wine into a more refined, almost velvety version. The grapes are sun-dried, concentrating fruit, sweetness and aromas, while long ageing in American and French barrels gives it depth, intensity and a more complex character.
In the glass it has an amber colour with orange highlights and reveals caramel, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, coffee, raisin and vanilla. On the palate it is sweet, rich and concentrated, but its acidity keeps the balance and does not allow it to become heavy.
Serve it chilled, around 8-10°C, at the end of the meal or as a small luxury on its own. It makes a great match with dark chocolate, fruit tarts, ice cream, nuts, caramel-based desserts or aged cheeses. A sun-dried wine for slow sips, low lights and those moments when you want the wine to close the evening with style.
