RAPSANI Old Vines Organic Red Wine by Dougos Winery is an expressive red wine from the Rapsani zone, which highlights the character of old vines and the dynamism of the historic wine region at the foothills of Mount Olympus. In the market, it appears as the premium version of the estate’s Rapsani, from vines around 60 years old, with low yields and strict fruit selection.
It is produced from the classic Rapsani blend, namely Xinomavro, Krasato, and Stavroto, and matures for 18 months in French and American oak barrels, gaining depth, complexity, and balance. In the glass, it shows a medium purple color, while on the nose aromas of strawberry, cherry, raspberry jam, and sour cherry stand out, framed by notes of vanilla, coconut, cinnamon, flowers, and herbs.
On the palate, it is velvety, with medium to full body, crisp acidity, and moderate but juicy tannins, offering a balanced and enjoyable whole with aging potential. It is an ideal choice for those seeking a quality Greek red wine with character and finesse.
