Cavalieri Assyrtiko Nico Lazaridi

Cavalieri Assyrtiko by Nico Lazaridi is a richer and more gastronomic version of the variety, far from the strictly sharp style we are used to. From the vineyards of Drama, Assyrtiko here gains more volume, calmer power and an elegant barrel touch that makes it call for food and a large glass.

In the glass it has a deep lemon colour and reveals ripe white-fleshed fruit, citrus fruit, herbs, honey, jasmine and subtle notes of vanilla. Part of the wine ferments and ages in acacia barrels, gaining a fuller texture and complex character, while the rest remains in stainless steel tanks with the fine lees, keeping the freshness and purity of the fruit.

On the palate it is dry, full-bodied and refreshing, with lovely richness, high acidity and a long, fruity finish. It shows beautifully next to oily fish, seafood with acidic sauces, sushi, mushrooms, white meats, hummus or dishes with fresh vegetables. An Assyrtiko with depth, finesse and a creamier mood, without losing its energy.
