Eclipse Gentilini Winery & Vineyards is a dry red wine made from Mavrodaphne of Kefalonia, with a rich, mature and elegantly structured character. It comes from Kefalonia and highlights the serious side of Mavrodaphne, far from the sweet style many people are familiar with. On the nose, aromas of black cherry, plum, sour cherry, spices, licorice and subtle vanilla notes from oak ageing stand out. On the palate it is full-bodied, balanced and velvety, with ripe tannins, lovely intensity and a long finish. It pairs excellently with red meats, lamb, game, slow-cooked dishes with rich sauces, mature cheeses and spiced recipes.
