Sweet Princess by Avantis Estate is a sweet red Syrah with intensity, depth and impressive concentration. It comes from Evia and shows the variety in a richer, almost decadent expression, but with the acidity needed to keep it from becoming heavy.
Vinification follows a late harvest approach, with crushing of the stems before harvest, so that the grapes gain greater natural concentration. Fermentation stops naturally, preserving the wine’s sweetness, while ageing for 12 months in oak barrels gives more depth, vanilla, nuts and a more complex texture.
In the glass, it brings black fruit, ripe cherry, plum, jam, vanilla, walnut, chocolate and subtle spices. On the palate, it is rich, sweet but balanced, with impressive concentration, lively acidity and a very long finish.
It pairs perfectly with bitter chocolate, Black Forest cake, brownies, chocolate tart, desserts with red fruit, blue cheeses and mature spicy cheeses. It is also enjoyable on its own as a dessert wine, when you want something sweet, intense and truly distinctive in the glass.
