Freedom by Avantis Estate is a Syrah that shows the freer, cleaner and more effortless side of the variety. It comes from Evia and follows a more natural philosophy, with indigenous yeasts, no added sulphites and no oak ageing.
Vinification lets the fruit speak more directly, without heavy intervention or an oaky character. It is bottled unfiltered, preserving a more vivid texture and a more authentic expression in the glass.
On the nose, it brings black fruit, cherry, blackberry, pepper, dark chocolate and a light earthy feel. On the palate, it is juicy, fruity and peppery, with soft tannins, clean flow and a more relaxed character than the estate’s classic Syrah.
It pairs very well with burgers, sausages, BBQ, lamb, pork, mushroom dishes, spicy red sauces and mild cheeses. It is a red wine for anyone looking for Syrah with character, but in a more natural, direct and less “polished” expression.
