Roditis Orange Kyr-Yianni Warehouse 10

19,90

Roditis Orange by Kyr-Yianni Warehouse 10 is an orange wine that shows Roditis from a bolder, more experimental side. Here, the variety is not handled like a classic fresh white wine, but with a technique that recalls red wine vinification, meaning contact between the must and the skins. This gives the wine more color, texture, gentle tannins and a more complex character.

In the glass, it has an amber-orange hue and aromas that move between ripe citrus, orange peel, quince, dried apricot, spices and subtle oak notes. On the palate, it is dry, expressive and layered, with refreshing acidity, a gentle tannic feel and a finish that leaves fruit, spice and a slightly earthy dimension.

The winemaking is what gives Roditis Orange its identity. The grapes go through strict manual sorting and fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks, using a red wine approach. Cold maceration at 10°C for two days helps reveal the aromatic depth of the variety, while the gradual rise in temperature to 17-20°C builds greater complexity. Near the end of fermentation, the wine is separated from the skins, stays for 3 months on the lees in stainless steel with stirring and then matures for 9 months in French oak barrels.

It is a wine for those who want something outside the usual path, but not difficult for no reason. It needs a large glass, not too low a serving temperature and food with character. It pairs very well with spiced dishes, grilled vegetables, mushrooms, legumes, smoked fish, chicken with eastern-style notes, pork, mature cheeses and dishes with rich sauces. A different wine from Florina, with the experimental vision of Warehouse 10 and the know-how of Kir-Yianni.
