Red SMX Magnum Alpha Doaine

Red SMX Magnum by Alpha Estate is the 1.5L version of the estate’s well-known red blend, made from 60% Syrah, 20% Xinomavro and 20% Merlot. It is a wine with power, fruit and structure, but also with the freshness that Amyndeon gives to its red wines. The Magnum bottle adds a more impressive presence on the table and makes it an ideal choice for a gift, a cellar or a serious dinner with company.
Syrah gives dark fruit, colour and spicy intensity, Xinomavro brings acidity, energy and a more food-friendly structure, while Merlot rounds out the blend with a softer, riper feel. Alpha Estate’s vineyards are located on the Amyndeon plateau, at an altitude of 620-710 metres, on sandy and sandy-clay soils over limestone, elements that help the wine keep clarity, balance and good intensity.
In the winery, the wine ages in Allier-Bertrange oak casks and then remains in bottle before release, with no filtration before bottling. The result is a red wine with deep ruby colour, aromas of sweet cherry, plum, dark fruit, pepper and subtle oak. On the palate, it is full, rich and lively, with ripe tannins, good acidity and a long, spicy finish.
The Magnum bottle fits this wine style beautifully, giving it an even more premium feel and making it ideal for tables with red meats, lamb, game, grilled beef, meat pies, spicy sauces and mature cheeses. Serve it ideally at 16-18°C and give it some air in a decanter before pouring.
