Rawditis Oenops Wines

16,90

The Rawditis Oenops Wines is a natural orange wine from 100% Roditis, taking a classic Greek variety and giving it a bolder, effortless and more gastronomic expression. The grapes come mainly from an old vineyard of around 90 years in Amyntaion, one of the coolest winegrowing zones of Northern Greece, helping the wine retain freshness, tension and clarity.
In the winemaking process, Oenops Wines lets Roditis speak almost entirely for itself. The grapes are carefully selected berry by berry and ferment spontaneously in clay amphorae. Skin contact for 28 days gives the wine its deep golden-orange colour, more texture and a light tannic feel that makes it especially interesting with food. It then stays for 6 months on its fine lees in amphorae, with no added sulfites or other additives, and is bottled unfiltered.
In the glass, it shows aromas of tangerine peel, apricot, dried fruit, wild herbs, thyme and a subtle honeyed note. On the palate, it is full, vibrant and very expressive, with beautiful acidity, a gentle spicy touch and a finish that lingers. It is not a “classic” white wine; it is freer, earthier and more flavourful, ideal for anyone who wants to try something different but well made.
Try it with seafood, grilled fish, Greek vegetable stews, mushroom dishes, Asian cuisine, spicy salads and mature cheeses.
