Driopi Nemea by Ktima Driopi is a dry red PDO Nemea wine made from 100% Agiorgitiko, sourced from vineyards in Koutsi, Nemea. The semi-mountainous clay-limestone soils of the area and an altitude of approximately 350 metres favour the production of Agiorgitiko with ripe fruit, good acidity and a soft tannic structure.
Vinification follows the classic red winemaking method with a short 5–6 day maceration, followed by 8–10 months of maturation in used French oak barrels. The nose is dominated by ripe red fruit aromas, accompanied by notes of nuts and sweet spices. On the palate, it is dry and balanced, with gentle acidity, soft velvety tannins and a subtle vanilla note on the finish.
It pairs ideally with meat dishes with light red sauces, chicken, pork, giouvetsi, pasta with minced meat, aubergine-based dishes and octopus with vinegar. It can be enjoyed young, while it also has an ageing potential of approximately 3–5 years.
