Cava Dryopi Dryopi Estate
€29,00
Cava Driopi by Ktima Driopi is a dry red PGI Peloponnese wine made from 70% Agiorgitiko and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. The Agiorgitiko comes from estate-owned vineyards in Koutsi, Nemea, while the Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Tegea in Arcadia. The combination of the two varieties creates a rich and structured wine, with Agiorgitiko contributing ripe fruit and Cabernet Sauvignon adding intensity and firmer tannic structure.
Vinification includes a long 25-day maceration under controlled temperatures. This is followed by approximately 24 months of ageing in French oak barrels, 70% new and 30% second-use, and a further 24 months of bottle ageing.
The nose reveals ripe red fruits, black berries, plum and sweet sour cherry, accompanied by elegant notes of eucalyptus and spices. On the palate, it is fleshy and rich, with firm tannic structure, considerable concentration and a persistent, complex finish. It has an ageing potential of approximately 10 years.
It pairs ideally with red meats, rib eye steak, rooster cooked in wine, braised beef and other rich meat dishes.
