Mosaic Red Chatzivaritis Estate

Mosaic Red by Chatzivaritis Estate is a red wine that does exactly what its name suggests: it brings different pieces together into one balanced, lively whole. Xinomavro and Negoska bring the northern Greek character, freshness and savoury energy, while Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot add fruit, softness and a more approachable feel.
It comes from organically and biodynamically cultivated vines in Bidabla, Goumenissa, where the sandy-clay soils help shape a red wine with a fresh, light and clearly fruit-driven character. With this wine, Chatzivaritis Estate is not chasing a heavy, overly structured red, but a bottle that drinks easily, has identity and fits beautifully on the everyday table.
In the winemaking process, the must goes through a 2-day cold pre-fermentation maceration, gaining colour, aroma and fruity intensity without harshness. After fermentation, the wine remains on its lees for 12 months, developing better texture, roundness and depth, while keeping its youthful and refreshing character.
In the glass, it has a light red colour with violet highlights. Aromatically, it moves through small red fruits, flowers, jasmine and white pepper. On the palate, it is light, refreshing and pleasantly juicy, with soft tannins and a fruity finish that never feels tiring. Try it slightly chilled, around 16°C, with cooked vegetables in tomato sauce, pasta with red sauce, pizza, cheese platters or more casual dishes with charcuterie.
