Kechribari Retsina by Kechris Winery is retsina in its modern, clean and more elegant version. It is made from 100% Roditis and shows how one of Greece’s most traditional wines can be fresh, aromatic and enjoyable without becoming heavy.
Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, while a small amount of fresh pine resin is added during fermentation. This gives the wine its distinctive herbal character, with notes of mastic, pine and thyme, while keeping the fruit clean and vibrant.
In the glass, it brings pear, green apple, melon and lime, together with Mediterranean herbs and a fresh, savoury feel on the palate. It is balanced, pleasant and much more versatile than you might expect from a retsina.
Kechris Winery has strongly connected its name with the quality upgrade of retsina, and Kechribari is perhaps its most iconic expression. It pairs beautifully with meze, fried dishes, marinated anchovies, calamari, saganaki, dolmadakia, pies and spicy salads.
