Idisma Dryos Assyrtiko Wine Art Estate
€18,60
Idisma Drios Assyrtiko by Wine Art Estate is a white wine with power, freshness and a serious connection with oak. It comes from vineyards in Mikrochori and Kali Vrisi in Drama, areas with cold winters and cool northern winds during summer, helping Assyrtiko preserve intensity, acidity and clean fruit.
During vinification, the wine starts in stainless steel tanks and is then transferred with its fine lees into 225-litre French oak barrels. There, it completes fermentation and remains for about 6 months with manual lees stirring, gaining volume, density and a creamy texture, without losing the lemony energy of the variety.
In the glass, it has a light lemon colour and an aromatic profile that moves between lemon, grapefruit, white-fleshed peach, nectarine and quince peel, with subtle notes of hazelnut, oak and salted nuts. On the palate, it is full but lively, with high acidity, lovely oiliness, aromas of lime, peach and melon, and a long finish.
It is an Assyrtiko for those who want something richer and more food-driven, not just a fresh white wine. It shows its character next to mushroom risotto, chicken with buttery or sweet-and-sour sauces, pork with lemon marinade, truffle dishes, tuna, smoked salmon or octopus with fava.
