Dots Kydonitsa Oenops Wines
The Dots Kydonitsa Oenops Wines is a dry white wine that puts Kydonitsa at the centre, in a clean, elegant and very contemporary way. The variety, known for its distinctive aromatic character, here gains a more refined and gastronomic side, without losing its freshness and immediate charm.
The grapes come from selected vineyards in Kilkis, an area of Northern Greece that gives wines with freshness, pure fruit and beautiful balance. Oenops Wines by Nikos Karatzas works with Greek varieties and collaborating growers from different regions, with a low-intervention philosophy and the aim of letting the variety, the place and the vintage show clearly in the glass.
In the winemaking process, the wine ferments slowly with native yeasts in a clay amphora and then stays for 6 months on its fine lees in the same vessel. Bottling without filtration keeps its character more vibrant, with beautiful texture and natural intensity.
In the glass, it has a bright lemon colour and aromas of white flowers, stone fruit, lime and subtle minerality. On the palate, it is fresh but not thin, with balanced acidity, a smooth structure and a long, elegant finish. It is a white wine that is easy to enjoy on its own, but shows even better next to seafood, fish, salads, white cheeses, chicken and dishes with lemony or herbal notes.
