Château Julia Assyrtiko by Domain Costa Lazaridi is the Assyrtiko that leaves the wild, dry Santorini for a while and finds a new rhythm in cool Drama. Domain Costa Lazaridi has played an important role in bringing both international and Greek varieties into a more modern direction in the region, and here it shows Assyrtiko in a more elegant, pure and balanced mood.

In the glass it has a bright, pale blond colour with discreet green highlights. The nose moves through chamomile, lemon blossom, lemon and flint, with that mineral sensation that keeps the wine serious but not strict. Vinification in stainless steel tanks preserves the freshness and purity of the variety, allowing the fruit and lemony intensity to come forward.

On the palate it is dry, full and lively, with good structure, vibrant acidity and a long finish with hints of lemon. Open it with fried fish, seafood, fava, omelettes, white meats or dishes with lemon-based sauces. An Assyrtiko with energy, finesse and a more northern Greek composure in the glass.
