Cabernet Sauvignon – Agiorgitiko Oenotria Gi is a dry red wine with intensity, structure and rich fruit. The blend is mainly based on Cabernet Sauvignon, while Agiorgitiko is added in a small percentage to soften the strictness of the variety and give a juicier, more Greek feel to the final wine.
It comes from the organic vineyards of Oenotria Gi in Kapandriti, Attica, a project by Domaine Costa Lazaridi that shows how seriously the Attic vineyard can stand in red wines. Ageing for 18 months in French oak barrels gives the wine depth, a more integrated texture and the characteristic notes of vanilla, spices and chocolate.
In the glass, it brings black fruit, blackberry, black cherry, plum, vanilla, toasted bread, chocolate and spices. On the palate, it is fleshy, rich and well-structured, with ripe fruit, noticeable but noble tannins and a long, full finish.
It pairs very well with beef steak, rib-eye, oven-baked lamb, game, stews, rich pasta with meat, BBQ, burgers and mature cheeses. It is a red wine with premium character, ideal for a table with intense flavours but also for some time in the cellar.
