Aglianico Hatzimichalis Estate
€20,50
Aglianico by Domaine Hatzimichalis is a red wine with intensity, structure and a distinctive story. The Aglianico variety is linked to Magna Grecia and the estate brings it to Atalanti Valley, giving it a Greek, mainland expression with power but also finesse.
It comes from Rahes Galanou, at an altitude of 300-350 metres, within the privately owned vineyard of Domaine Hatzimichalis. Vinification follows the classic red winemaking method under controlled temperature, while the wine ages for at least 18 months in French oak barriques, gaining depth, spicy intensity and a more integrated texture.
In the glass, it brings black fruit, blackberry, blueberry, cinnamon, clove and sweet spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied, firm and balanced, with strong tannins, high acidity and a pleasant chocolate feel on the finish.
It pairs very well with roast beef, grilled meats with barbecue sauce, wild boar with plums, stews, sausages, pappardelle with beef, mature cheeses and dishes with spices. It is a red wine for anyone who wants body, energy and character, without becoming overly heavy.
