Agios Chronos Magnum Avantis Estate
Agios Chronos Magnum by Avantis Estate is the more impressive version of one of the most iconic Greek red wines. It is made from Syrah with a small addition of Viognier, in a style that recalls the Northern Rhône but with a clear Evia identity. The 1.5L Magnum bottle makes it ideal for a large dinner, a gift or for anyone who wants to give it time in the bottle.
The co-vinification of Syrah with Viognier and the long maceration give intensity, colour, aromatic depth and a finer texture. Ageing for 12 months in French oak barrels adds spice, smoke and vanilla, while keeping the balance between power and elegance.
In the glass, it has a deep ruby colour and brings violet, red and black fruit, liquorice, apricot, pepper, sweet spices and subtle oak. On the palate, it is rich, spicy and balanced, with velvety tannins, fresh acidity and a long, complex finish.
With a little aeration, it opens up even more, revealing earthier, smoky and chocolatey notes. The Magnum bottle gives it even better ageing potential, making it a choice for special occasions as well as for a serious cellar.
It pairs very well with rib-eye, lamb, game, slow-cooked beef, BBQ, sausages, mushrooms, peppery dishes, smoky sauces and mature cheeses. It is a wine for anyone looking for intensity, depth and premium character, but with elegance and not just weight.
