34 Artemis Karamolegos Winery

34 by Artemis Karamolegos Winery is a Santorini wine with depth, intensity and a sense of history in the glass. Its name refers to the 34 continuous centuries of vine cultivation on the island, while the wine comes from Assyrtiko old vines, around 120 years old, from top areas such as Pyrgos, Exo Gonia, Fira, Akrotiri and Megalochori.
The vinification keeps the character of Assyrtiko pure, but also gives it extra depth. The wine ages for 9 months on its fine lees, gaining a fuller, almost creamy texture, while a small percentage spends 5 months in third-use oak barrels, adding subtle complexity without covering its mineral intensity.
In the glass it reveals lemon, grapefruit, green apple, quince, stone, salinity and a fine sensation of nuts. On the palate it is electric, concentrated and sharp, with high acidity, a sea-salt finish and great length. It is one of those white wines that can easily stand next to raw fish, shellfish, lobster, shrimps, grilled fish, white meats with herbs or dishes with lemony intensity.
