Τypaeon Markogianni Winery
€12,20
Typaeon Assyrtiko by Markogianni Winery is a dry PGI Ilia white wine made exclusively from Assyrtiko. Its grapes come from ten-year-old vines in the Trikokia vineyard at Grillos, Olympia, planted on clay-loam soils.
Following four hours of pre-fermentation skin contact and gentle pressing, spontaneous fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel. The wine then matures for six months, with 60% kept in stainless steel, 25% in amphora and 15% in French oak. The result combines extra texture and depth with the fresh, energetic character of Assyrtiko.
Expect citrus, white peach, floral and herbal aromas, alongside subtle wet-stone notes. Rich and rounded yet lively, it offers refreshing acidity and a smooth, lasting finish. The family-run winery is located near Ancient Olympia, between the Alfeios River and the foothills of Mount Lapithas.
Serve at around 10°C with seafood, grilled fish or lemon chicken.
