Pinot Noir Strofi Alpha Domaine
€25,10
Pinot Noir Strofi by Alpha Estate is a dry red PGI Florina wine that shows the more delicate and aromatic side of Amyndeon. It is made from 100% Pinot Noir and comes from the Strofi single block, a small 14.10-stremma vineyard parcel at an altitude of 619 metres, with a northwestern orientation facing Mount Voras. The cool climate of the area helps the variety keep freshness, clarity and that refined intensity that makes a Pinot Noir truly interesting.
In the winery, Alpha Estate follows a gentle yet very precise approach: destemming without crushing, 4 days of pre-fermentation cold maceration, alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts from the same vineyard block, cap punching and 8 months on the lees. The wine then ages for 12 months in new French oak barrels from Allier and Bertrange and another 12 months in bottle, without filtration before bottling.
In the glass, it shows wild cherry, raspberry, black plum, gentle spices and notes of cocoa, with the oak adding depth without weighing down the wine. On the palate, it is elegant but not weak, with fresh acidity, fine tannins, good concentration and a subtle mineral feel that keeps it lively. This is Pinot Noir with a clear identity: aromatic, refined, slightly earthy and serious enough to stand next to a good meal.
Pair it with duck, chicken, turkey, rabbit, pork fillet, mushrooms, feathered game and dishes with delicate, aromatic sauces. Serve it around 16-18°C and give it a little time in the glass to show its character more clearly.
