Peplo by Domaine Skouras is a refined dry rosé wine with the designation PGI Peloponnese, which stands out for its complex vinification and distinctive character. It is produced from Mavrofilero, Agiorgitiko, and Syrah, with each variety vinified differently: Agiorgitiko in acacia barrel, Syrah in stainless steel tank, and Mavrofilero in amphora. The vintage shown as current is 2024.
In the glass, it shows a bright, refined coral color with red-gold highlights, while on the nose aromas of cherry, strawberry, white flowers, violet, rose, lemon, grapefruit, and honey stand out. On the palate, it is complex and elegant, with medium body, refreshing acidity, oily texture, and a long, evolving finish.
Peplo is an ideal choice for those seeking a distinctive Greek dry rosé wine with depth and gastronomic character. It pairs very nicely with oily dishes, cold cuts, fried red fish, shrimps, and exotic cuisine, such as Chinese, Thai, or Mexican. Its alcoholic strength is 12.5% vol, the bottle size is 0.75 L, and it is recommended to be served at 9–12°C.
