Nemea Agiorgitiko by Domaine Skouras is an expressive dry red wine from the Nemea zone, with the designation PDO Nemea. It is produced from 100% Agiorgitiko from vineyards at an altitude of approximately 650 meters, with vines of an average age of 31 years, and the vintage shown as current is 2024.
In the glass, it shows a deep sour-cherry color, while on the nose aromas of blackberry, red berries, ripe strawberry, together with notes of spices, clove, cinnamon, and tobacco stand out. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with elegant structure, balanced acidity, and very ripe, fine-textured tannins, while the finish is moderately long with red fruit dominating.
Nemea Agiorgitiko is vinified in stainless steel tanks, with a total extraction time of about 12 days, completion of malolactic fermentation in barrels, and maturation in used French barriques for about 12 months, followed by bottle ageing before release. It pairs very nicely with red meats, braised dishes, pasta with red sauces, and mature cheeses. Its alcoholic strength usually appears between 13.5% and 14% vol.
