Malagouzia Boutari Winery

Boutari Wineries’ Malagouzia is a dry white wine from Macedonia, made for those who want aromatic character without going over the top. The grapes come from mountainous areas in Florina and Pieria, two zones that help the variety keep its freshness, purity and more vibrant expression in the glass.
In the winemaking process, harvesting takes place during the coolest hours of the day and is followed by strict hand selection, so that only healthy and expressive fruit enters the tank. Pre-fermentation cold maceration enhances the aromas of Malagouzia, while fermentation at controlled temperatures keeps the profile clean and fresh. After fermentation, the wine remains in tank with the fine lees, gaining fuller texture and better balance without losing its freshness.
In the glass, it has a bright white-yellow colour with greenish highlights. The nose shows melon, apricot and citrus fruit, together with riper notes of honey and jasmine. On the palate, it is refined, aromatic and full, with the variety showing its expressive character but with beautiful restraint.
It is a wine that opens easily and does its job effortlessly: it refreshes, brings aroma to the table and gives a brighter feel to dishes with seafood, fish, pasta with light sauces, salads or dishes with fruit. Best served at 10-12°C, where its aromatic intensity, freshness and soft, pleasant texture show at their best.
