Lykaeon by Markogianni Winery is a PGI Ilia red wine made exclusively from Mandilaria, grown on clay-loam soils in Skillountia, Olympia.
Traditional red winemaking includes six days of skin contact with regular pigeage. The wine then matures primarily in amphora for six months, with a smaller portion aged in third-use French oak barrels. It is bottled unfiltered, preserving its lively varietal character.
Red fruit aromas meet herbal notes, black pepper, cinnamon and dried clove. Medium-bodied and rounded, it offers surprisingly soft tannins for Mandilaria, refreshing acidity and a pleasant, fruit-driven finish.
Serve at 15–17°C with grilled meat, slow-cooked dishes, mushrooms or mature cheeses.
