Château Kaniaris Red is a dry red wine PGI Geraneia, made from Syrah and Merlot, with ripe black fruit, full flavour and a classic aged feel. It is the more premium red label of Chateau Kaniaris, with a richer and more structured character than the winery’s more everyday red expressions.
The blend combines the spicy intensity and depth of Syrah with the soft, juicy side of Merlot. Ageing in barrel gives a more integrated texture, notes of vanilla, clove and chocolate, without covering the fruit. The result is a red wine with volume, balance and plenty of gastronomic versatility.
In the glass, it brings a deep garnet colour, blackberry, blueberry, black cherry, plum, chocolate, vanilla, clove and subtle spicy notes. On the palate, it is generous and balanced, with depth of fruit, firm but noble tannins and a long spicy finish.
It pairs very well with red meats, grilled beef, slow-cooked pork, stews, pasta with meat, burgers, BBQ, cured meats and mature cheeses. It is a red wine for the table, the cellar and more thoughtful moments, with a rich character but without becoming difficult.
