Château Julia Magnum Domaine Costa Lazaridi

Château Julia Magnum by Domaine Costa Lazaridi is the larger, more collectible version of Château Julia Merlot, a red wine built around the velvety yet structured side of the variety. From the range that the estate dedicated to Julia Lazaridi, it comes in a Magnum bottle with a more impressive presence, better ageing potential and that lovely feeling of a wine you open when the table has a reason to last a little longer.

In the glass it is deep, solid red and reveals redcurrant, cherry jam, mint chocolates, ink, cedar and subtle oak notes. Ageing gives it depth, a rounder texture and lovely complexity, while keeping the rich fruit of Merlot alive.

On the palate it is dry, fleshy and generous, with well-crafted tannins, balanced acidity and a long finish with chocolate hints. It calls for dishes with depth and beautiful intensity, such as beef steak, fillet with mushroom sauce, slow-cooked lamb, pork with prunes, game or mature cheeses.
