Alkar by Messaréa Winery is a white wine from Tinos that puts Potamisi in the spotlight, a rare local variety with a fresh, herbal and clearly Cycladic character. It is the winery’s first wine and shows its philosophy from the very beginning: clean lines, authenticity and expression of place without unnecessary exaggeration.
In the glass it reveals grapefruit, lemon, pear, ripe greengage, white flowers and subtle herbal hints that recall dittany and thyme. Ageing on the lees gives it a little extra volume and texture, while keeping the wine refreshing, bright and direct.
On the palate it is dry, balanced and pleasantly salty, with vibrant acidity, medium body and a finish that leaves a fine, natural tannic touch. It pairs beautifully with fish, seafood, white meats, vegetable stews, salads with herbs or cheeses with a fresh, salty character. A white wine for those who want something Greek, rare and truly interesting.
