Acheron Markogianni Winery
€18,50
Acheron by Markogianni Winery is a red wine made exclusively from Kolliniatiko, a rare local grape with a vibrant, spicy personality. The fruit comes from 40-year-old, own-rooted vineyards in Grillos and Greka, Olympia.
Vinification takes place in open tanks with seven days of skin contact and regular pigeage. The wine then matures for five months, with 80% aged in amphora and 20% in third-use French oak barrels. It is bottled unfiltered, preserving its expressive character and natural texture.
Small red and black forest fruits meet black pepper, cinnamon, vanilla and subtle wood notes. The palate is rounded and spicy, with dense fine-grained tannins, lively acidity and a long, intense finish.
Pair it with grilled meat, game, slow-cooked dishes, mushrooms or mature cheeses.
