Vidiano Single Vineyard by Kyr-Yianni Warehouse 10 is a white wine that takes a Cretan variety and places it in a completely different setting. Vidiano, mainly known from Crete, is cultivated here in Maroneia, Thrace, on sandy-loam soils near the northeastern Aegean, and is vinified by Kir-Yianni in a small, limited batch. The result is a wine with freshness, ripeness and a calm, elegant complexity.
In the glass, it shows aromas of ripe stone fruits, such as peach and apricot, along with citrus notes and a subtle mineral feel. On the palate, it is lively, full enough and beautifully integrated, with refreshing acidity, clean fruit and a broader yet elegant structure that takes it beyond the simple idea of a fresh white wine.
Oak ageing gives it more depth and texture, without covering the character of the variety. The fruit stays at the front, but gains layers, a riper feel and a subtle finish with length. It is one of those white wines that do not shout, but reveal more as they stay in the glass.
Vidiano Single Vineyard is ideal for those who want to try something Greek, rare and a little outside the usual path. Serve it chilled, but not too cold, and pair it with fish, seafood, white meats, risotto, pasta with light sauces, grilled vegetables and soft white cheeses. A limited-production Vidiano with the experimental vision of Warehouse 10 and the know-how of Kir-Yianni behind it.
