The Cricket & The Ant by Markogianni Winery is a modern Retsina made exclusively from Roditis, combining Greek winemaking tradition with a fresh, clean and fruit-driven style.
The grapes come from 29-year-old, own-rooted vineyards in Skillountia and Diasella, near Ancient Olympia. Following brief pre-fermentation skin contact, the wine ferments in stainless steel with fresh pine resin and remains on its fine lees, gaining extra volume and a smooth texture.
Aromas of mastiha, citrus, Mediterranean herbs and pine meet flavours of white-fleshed fruit. Rich and rounded yet refreshing, it finishes clean, balanced and pleasantly long.
Serve with Mediterranean meze, grilled fish, seafood or herb-driven dishes.
