Megas Oenos XK/6 by Domaine Skouras is an iconic dry red wine with the designation PGI Peloponnese, which powerfully and complexly expresses the estate’s classic blend of 80% Agiorgitiko and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vintage shown as current is 2022.
In the glass, it shows a deep purple color, while on the nose complex aromas of black and red fruits, sweet spices, vanilla, coffee, cocoa, and smoke stand out. On the palate, it is dense, rich, and balanced, with ripe tannins, good acidity, and a long, complex finish that underlines its age-worthy character.
Megas Oenos XK/6 is vinified in stainless steel tanks, completes full malolactic fermentation in oak barrels, and matures in new French oak barrels, while it then also remains in bottle before release. It is an ideal choice for those seeking a Greek dry red wine with depth and ageing potential. It pairs very nicely with red meats, game, dishes with rich sauces, and aged cheeses. Its alcoholic strength for the 2022 vintage is 14.5% vol and the bottle size is 0.75 L.
