Mavrotragano Vassaltis Winery

Vassaltis Mavrotragano 2022 is a dry red wine made from 100% Mavrotragano, with an intense, structured, and highly expressive character. It is a label that highlights the δυναμική of this rare Santorini variety, with emphasis on intensity as well as balance. On the nose, aromas of red fruit, cherry, blackcurrant, and plum stand out, together with notes of minerality, forest floor, and black tea that give it depth and complexity. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with firm structure, ripe tannins, and a long finish, while its 12 months in oak barrels add greater roundness without taking away from the authentic character of the variety. It pairs beautifully with red meats, game, mushroom dishes, and mature cheeses.
