Black Sheep Red by Nico Lazaridi is a red wine with attitude, juicy fruit and a relaxed yet anything but indifferent personality. Made from Syrah and Merlot, from the vineyards at the foothills of Pangaio, it plays between the velvety ease of Merlot and the spicier, darker side of Syrah.
In the glass it has a deep purple colour and reveals ripe red fruit, plum, black cherry, pepper and subtle oak notes. Short contact with wood gives a little extra depth and roundness, without stealing the show from the fruit. The result is a red wine that is direct, tasty and very versatile.
On the palate it is dry, soft and juicy, with velvety texture, gentle tannins and a fruity, peppery finish. Bring it out with grilled meats, pasta with red sauce, veal, cold cuts, spicy cheeses or a good burger. A red wine for groups of friends, relaxed tables and moments when you want something easy, but with character.
