Emphasis Tempranillo by Pavlidis Estate is a red wine with intensity, depth and a clearly more premium direction. It is a single-varietal Tempranillo, single vineyard, from PGI Drama, a region that gives red wines clean fruit, structure and lovely balance thanks to its continental Mediterranean climate, cool nights and mountain winds around the vineyard areas of Kokkinogeia and Perichora.
In winemaking, Pavlidis Estate works with precision on the harvest timing and the duration of extraction, so that Tempranillo can express its fruit, concentration and phenolic depth without becoming harsh. The wine ages for 14 months in French and American oak barrels and then remains for at least 12 months in the bottle, gaining a more complex character, better-integrated tannins and greater length.
In the glass, it has a deep purple color and aromas of small red and black fruits, along with hints of minerality, spices, coconut and vanilla. On the palate it is full, round and rich, with ripe but firm tannins, good freshness and a long, intensely fruity finish. It is a red wine that can stand comfortably now next to good food, but also has serious ageing potential for many years.
At the table, it needs dishes with depth and richness: grilled meats, game, jamón-style cured meats and aged yellow cheeses. Best served at 16-18°C.
