Dryofilos Papaioannou Wines
€12,80
Dryofilos by Papaioannou Estate is a dry red wine made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, expressing a richer, more structured, and more serious style. On the estate’s official website, it is listed as a local Corinthian dry red wine from estate-owned vineyards in Nemea, while the current label appears as vintage 2020. In the glass, it shows a deep red color, while the nose reveals aromas of red and black fruits, spices, cedar, cocoa, and subtle vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with good-quality tannins, structure, and acidity that give it intensity as well as balance, while its ageing in oak barrels for around 6 to 8 months enhances its more complex character. It pairs beautifully with grilled meats, red meats, dishes with richer sauces, and soft or semi-hard cheeses. The wine was also awarded a Gold Medal at Gilbert & Gaillard 2023 for the 2020 vintage.
