Assyrtiko Mainland by Domaine Porto Carras is an Assyrtiko rooted in Halkidiki, showing a different, more mainland expression of the variety. It does not chase the strictness of Santorini; instead, it brings clarity, intensity and a cool mineral feel that makes it highly enjoyable in the glass.
The vinification keeps the wine in a fresh, direct style, allowing Assyrtiko to express its natural acidity, green fruit and characteristic minerality. On the palate, it is crisp, lively and energetic, with lemony tension, a clean finish and the kind of freshness that makes you easily go back for a second sip.
It comes from the organic vineyards of Domaine Porto Carras on the slopes of Sithonia, in an area where the sea, altitude and sandy-loam soils give white wines freshness and clear aromatic expression. It is ideal with seafood, grilled fish, shellfish, lemon-based dishes, vibrant salads and white cheeses, but it is just as enjoyable on its own, well chilled, when you want something sharp, clean and without unnecessary fuss.
