Syrah Papaioannou Wines

Syrah by Papaioannou Estate is a dry red wine made from 100% Syrah, expressing a richer, fuller, and more spicy character. On the estate’s official website, it appears as the 2021 vintage, sourced from estate-owned vineyards in Nemea and aged in oak barrels for one year. In the glass, it stands out for its deep purple color, while the nose develops aromas of red and black fruits, blackberry, cassis, vanilla, and spices, with subtle mineral notes that add complexity. On the palate, it is full-bodied, balanced, and harmonious, with soft tannins, good structure, and pleasing length, while its time in oak enhances its more mature and layered character. It pairs beautifully with rich red meats, grilled dishes, slow-cooked foods, and plates with intense sauces. The wine also received a Gold Medal at Gilbert & Gaillard 2023 for the 2021 vintage.
