Albariño is the most important white grape variety in Galicia, located in northwestern Spain, just above Portugal—particularly in the renowned Rías Baixas wine region.
Although Albariño can be produced in a range of styles, it most commonly yields wines with a light to medium body, bright, high acidity, and fresh, expressive aromas of peach, lemon, and apple blossom.
On the palate, Albariño wines are celebrated for their distinctive minerality, saline (sea-breeze) character, and vibrant citrus-driven flavors, making them exceptionally refreshing and food-friendly.
